Baird leads Michelin Championship in Las Vegas

The PGA Tour has landed in Las Vegas for the Michelin Championship. With the worlds best taking the weekend off the Michelin Classic gives one of the lesser lights a chance to post a season defining win.

Briny Baird has taken advantage of that and fired a 10 under par 62 opening round to lead the Championship. Baird sits atop a crowded leaderboard one shot clear of Ryan Palmer and Charles Howell III who both posted 9 under par rounds of 63.

Ryder Cup star Justin Leonard, Kevin Stadler, Michael Allen, Bart Bryant, and Scott Gutschewski were all at 8 under the card heading into the second round of this desert classic.

Adam Scott
