Former World Number 1 David Duval rediscovered his long lost form to fire a 6 under par 64 to take the opening round lead at the Dunlop Phoenix tournament on Thursday.
Duval said after finishing the day one shot clear of world number 1 Tiger Woods, "Today I drove the ball like I expect to. I hit driver on every hole,"
``My golf swing is good, my physical condition mediocre. My back hurts, my foot hurts, my ankle hurts and I have a have tendinitis in my wrist. I haven't felt the best for a year, fighting a bit of pain, but I don't say anything about it, because I think it's something I will always fight. Once you injure your back, you will always have a problem with it."
The 2001 champion went on to say, ``I'm well aware of how I've played over the last few years. A lot of it was injury problems that forced me to swing the club differently from how I would have liked. Because I did that to try to play, I just made things worse and worse, and lost every bit of confidence I had, and continued to be in pain. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong."
"Which comes first, success or confidence? I'm very confident how I'm playing. Do I need some success on the golf course? Certainly, but I have played well the last few tournaments."

Adam Scott is regarded as the most exciting young Australian golfer since Greg Norman. At the age of 23 years, eight months and 12 days, he became the youngest winner of The Players Championship on the US PGA Tour, an event considered by many to be the game's fifth Major.
Scott is a four-time winner on the US PGA Tour. His initial breakthrough came at the 2003 Deutsche Bank Championship after a second round 62 set up a four stroke win and saw Adam break into the top 20 in the World Rankings for the first time.
