Colin Montgomerie shot an opening round 67 at the Volvo Masters to share the lead with fellow Brit Ian Poulter as he began his quest to secure an eighth Order of Merit title. The duo hold a one shot lead over Luke Donald and Spaniards Sergio Garcia and Jose Maria Olazabal who won last week in Mallorca.
US Open champion Michael Campbell is the only man who can deny Monty the Merit title, but he opened with a one-over 72. Can the 42 year old Scot celebrate the Merit title with a victory?
Meanwhile, Jeff Brehaut is the clubhouse leader at the Chrysler Championship being played in Florida after firing a 6 under par opening round of 65. Brehaut sits atop of the leaderboard two shots clear of five players including Dean Wilson, Tom Lehman, Retief Goosen, Ben Crane and Charles Howell III. The traffic jam doesn't stop there with another nine players a further shot back at 3 under the card.

Adam Scott is regarded as the most exciting young Australian golfer since Greg Norman. At the age of 23 years, eight months and 12 days, he became the youngest winner of The Players Championship on the US PGA Tour, an event considered by many to be the game's fifth Major.
Scott is a four-time winner on the US PGA Tour. His initial breakthrough came at the 2003 Deutsche Bank Championship after a second round 62 set up a four stroke win and saw Adam break into the top 20 in the World Rankings for the first time.
