Singh out to defend his Chrysler title 27th October 2005

This week the PGA Tour stays in Florida for the Chrysler Championship at Westin Innisbrook Resort where world number 2 Vijay Singh will be aiming to bounce back after missing the cut at last weeks Funai Classic at Disney with a successful title defence.

Singh became golf's first $10 million man when he won this event last year. It was the ninth title of the year. Can Singh hit the high note and repeat the dose this year?

Meanwhile, Frenchman Jean Van de Velde will attempt to enter next year's Women's British Open because he is upset women have been given the opportunity to qualify for the 2006 British Open.

The 39 year old Van de Velde said, ``If we accept that women can enter our tournaments, then it applies that men can play with women.''

Adam Scott

Adam Scott is regarded as the most exciting young Australian golfer since Greg Norman. At the age of 23 years, eight months and 12 days, he became the youngest winner of The Players Championship on the US PGA Tour, an event considered by many to be the game's fifth Major.

Scott is a four-time winner on the US PGA Tour. His initial breakthrough came at the 2003 Deutsche Bank Championship after a second round 62 set up a four stroke win and saw Adam break into the top 20 in the World Rankings for the first time.
