World number 1 Tiger Woods won the PGA Tour player of the year award for the seventh time in his nine year professional career after winning six PGA TOUR titles including two major championships.
Woods was awarded the Jack Nicklaus Trophy as player of the year, the Arnold Palmer Award for leading the money list and the Byron Nelson Award for having the lowest scoring average.
After winning all three awards for the fifth time, Woods said, "It's not about winning player of the year awards,"
"It's about winning tournaments that allow you to get these awards."
"The first one was the most meaningful because it was my first full year on tour,"
"To be awarded player of the tour from your peers, and get respect from your peers in your first full year out was more than I could have ever imagined."
Sean O'Hair received the PGA Tour rookie of the year award after his win at the John Deere Classic in July. The teenage prodigy finished 18th on the money list with more than $2.4 million in his first season on tour.

Adam Scott is regarded as the most exciting young Australian golfer since Greg Norman. At the age of 23 years, eight months and 12 days, he became the youngest winner of The Players Championship on the US PGA Tour, an event considered by many to be the game's fifth Major.
Scott is a four-time winner on the US PGA Tour. His initial breakthrough came at the 2003 Deutsche Bank Championship after a second round 62 set up a four stroke win and saw Adam break into the top 20 in the World Rankings for the first time.
