Having been awarded his seventh Player of the year title, World Number 1 Tiger Woods will this week play host at the Target World Challenge which has a $5.5 million purse.

Woods, the defending champion, headlines a 16-man field that will compete for the $1.3 million first prize cheque at the Sherwood Country Club.

Britain is well represented with Darren Clarke, Luke Donald, David Howell, Padraig Harrington, and Colin Montgomerie who captured his 30th title on the European Tour last week when taking out the Hong Kong Open all receiving invitations to compete.

Adam Scott

Adam Scott is regarded as the most exciting young Australian golfer since Greg Norman. At the age of 23 years, eight months and 12 days, he became the youngest winner of The Players Championship on the US PGA Tour, an event considered by many to be the game's fifth Major.
