Toms to play in Presidents Cup

38 year old David Toms was released from a Pittsburgh hospital on Friday after experiencing a heart problem during the first round of the 84 Lumber Classic on Thursday.

Toms was airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital by helicopter halfway through his opening round after complaining of a rapid heart rate. Toms still plans to play in next week's Presidents Cup matches.

A brief statement was issued on the David Toms Foundation website stating, "Doctors have diagnosed David's heart condition as Supraventricular Tachycardia, which is a general term for any rapid heart rate originating above the ventricles. It is a non-life-threatening condition that can be either treated with medication or cured with minor surgery.
