Wie ready to turn pro

Wie ready to turn pro 21st September 2005

15-year-old Michelle Wie is expected to become an instant millionaire when she turns professional within the month. It is believed plans are already at foot to have Wie give up her amatuer status in time for the Samsung World Championship, which begins on Oct. 13.

Wie who turns 16 two days before the World Championship will earn in excess of $10 million a year just from endorsement deals.

Playing a limited schedule this year, the Punahou School student would have earned over $700,000 from her eight tournaments played thus far.

Having won the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links as a 13-year-old in 2003, Wie this year finished runner-up in the LPGA Championship and third in the British Open.

The next big thing is about to arrive.

Adam Scott

Adam Scott is regarded as the most exciting young Australian golfer since Greg Norman. At the age of 23 years, eight months and 12 days, he became the youngest winner of The Players Championship on the US PGA Tour, an event considered by many to be the game's fifth Major.

Scott is a four-time winner on the US PGA Tour. His initial breakthrough came at the 2003 Deutsche Bank Championship after a second round 62 set up a four stroke win and saw Adam break into the top 20 in the World Rankings for the first time.
