The Worlds Number 1 ranked golfer Vijay Singh is the ultimate rags-to-riches tale. The big hitting Fijian who learnt to play golf at an airport golf course on the island of Fiji and practice on the beach at low tide in Borneo has come of age since turning 40.

Singh has won 14 tournaments and two of his three majors (the 2000 Masters and the 2004 PGA, adding to his 1998 PGA) since turning 40. He has won the money title each of the past two years, and the 2004 Vardon Trophy for lowest stroke average.

His $10.9 million prizemoney won last year was a PGA Tour record, and he became only the sixth player in Tour history with at least nine wins in a season. In the last two years Singh has recorded 36 top 10 finishes, that is the most seen on the PGA Tour in a two year period since Tom Kite had in 21 in 1981 and 15 in '82.

The hard hitting and even harder working Singh is renowned for being the first on the practice range and last off it. He once worked as a bouncer in a Scottish nightclub to keep the dream alive, now he is living the dream.

Adam Scott

Adam Scott is regarded as the most exciting young Australian golfer since Greg Norman. At the age of 23 years, eight months and 12 days, he became the youngest winner of The Players Championship on the US PGA Tour, an event considered by many to be the game's fifth Major.

Scott is a four-time winner on the US PGA Tour. His initial breakthrough came at the 2003 Deutsche Bank Championship after a second round 62 set up a four stroke win and saw Adam break into the top 20 in the World Rankings for the first time.
